Daniel Popper – Baobab

Siemens Baobab – COP17
‘Making of’ film

Artist Danny Popper was commissioned by Siemens to build a giant Baobab tree for the United Nations Conference on Climate Change in Durban, COP17.

We always dig working with Pops on his mad projects. For this one we followed film him and his team through the entire build, from concept to installation. Made of pallet wood and steel, powered with 17 bicycle generator units and lit with 6000 LEDS, the tree became a symbol of the conference, the centre of all COP17 activities and a feature in almost every news report.

It won a Bronze Lourie Award and the Best International Exhibition Award in the Brand Experience or Creative Event category at The UK Events Awards. We like to think the video helped in that 😉
